FAQ – European Road Moves
How long does the move take?
Typically 1–2 weeks to and from Western Europe, and 2–3 weeks to other European destinations.
What is combination transport?
Your belongings are transported together with other customers’ shipments to optimize logistics and reduce costs.
What is the alternative to combination transport?
Solo transport is more expensive but allows for greater (though not absolute) certainty regarding pick-up and delivery dates.
How far in advance should we confirm the move?
At least 14 days before the packing date – preferably earlier, especially during peak season.
Why has the price increased since my last move?
Costs have risen across the board, and pricing also depends on season, volume, and access conditions.
When is peak season in the moving industry?
Typically from mid-July to mid-September.
Is it cheaper if I pack myself?
No, the price is the same. For customs, insurance, and safety reasons, we must inspect and repack all boxes if needed.
Can you store my belongings if my new home isn’t ready?
Yes, we offer flexible storage solutions.
How does insurance work during the move?
We can arrange all-risk transport insurance. Note: damages from self-packing are not covered.
Can I change my moving date after confirmation?
Yes, we will always try to accommodate changes depending on availability.
FAQ – FCL (Full Container Load) Moves
What is FCL moving?
FCL means your belongings are packed into a dedicated container that is not shared with others.
How does the FCL process work?
Your items are packed and sealed in a container. Once documentation is ready, the container is booked on the next available vessel.
What are the benefits of FCL?
Dedicated space, better control, and higher security.
Can the route change during transit?
Yes, the shipping line may adjust the route due to weather, port congestion, or logistics.
How is customs clearance handled?
The container must go through customs upon arrival. Timing varies, and we keep you updated.
When will my container arrive?
We provide an estimated time of arrival (ETA), but factors like route changes and port congestion may affect it.
What happens in case of delays?
We will keep you informed and work to minimize any delays.
When will the container be delivered?
After customs clearance, the container will be delivered—provided access conditions allow it.
Can I track my container?
Yes, you will receive tracking information and a link to monitor your container’s progress.
What documents are required?
Typically: passport copy, work/residence permit, and housing contract. We advise based on your destination.
Is insurance necessary?
It’s not mandatory, but highly recommended.
What are demurrage and detention?
Fees may apply if the container stays too long at the port or is not returned on time—e.g., if documents are missing.
